Restaurant, Hungarian Castle

471-473 Bloor Street West, near Spadina Avenue

The Annex

This building stood empty and boarded up for 18 years, after the  Hungarian Castle restaurant closed in 1987.  It was owned by a reclusive and legendary Annex landlord, Annie Racz, who passed away in 2004.  BMV Books opened a branch of their bookstore here in the fall of 2006.

North Toronto Station/LCBO flagship store

10 Scrivener Square, Yonge Street at Summerhill Avenue

Summerhill

The station as it appeared in 2001.  Built in 1915 in the Beaux Arts style, it remained operational until 1927.  In 1940, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario moved in.  The building was neglected until 2003, when it was restored to much of its original splendour.
